Mac OS X 10.8 comes with Python 2.7 pre-installed by Apple. If you wish, you are invited to install the most recent version of Python 3 from the Python website ( ). A current “universal binary” build of Python, which runs natively on the Mac’s new Intel and legacy PPC CPU’s, is available there. For Python 3.7.4, we provide two binary installer options for download. The default variant is 64-bit-only and works on macOS 10.9 (Mavericks) and later systems. Changed in 3.7.4 The 64-bit/32-bit variant that also works on very old versions of macOS, from 10.6 (Snow Leopard) on, is now deprecated and will no longer be provided in future. Windows users: If installing Python 3.5.1 as a non-privileged user, you may need to escalate to administrator privileges to install an update to your C runtime libraries. Windows users: There are now 'web-based' installers for Windows platforms; the installer will download the needed software components at installation time.
